June 25th

Today was our flight. It was technically short because of the time zones but felt long. The flight attendant served us all soda and food. We arrived in Colorado earlier than expected. After we retrieved our luggage and hopped in the vans, we drove to Walmart. Along the way there were a few incidents that are not going to be recounted. We had dinner at Country House Buffet.

June 28th

Today was a very boring day. We drove for 4 hours. We ate cold cuts for lunch. Then we drove on the Million Dollar Highway that had a spectacular view. When we set up camp we headed to the Bar D Chuckwagon to eat stake and chicken. We then watched the show and returned to camp.

June 30th

In the morning, the camp was a flurry of motion as camp needed to be taken down. We left the campsite to go to Cheyenne Mountain State Park to camp. On the long drive we stopped at Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve. These were giant dunes to climb up, and everyone had tons of fun. We also had sand all over our bodies. We stopped at a Golden Corral for dinner, then went to set up camp. The wind was terrible, blowing tents away!

July 1st

We woke up and had a cereal/leftovers breakfast. We then drove to Cave of the Winds where we took the lantern tour down into the caverns. The lanterns were buckets with candles in them. The cave of the Winds was a fun place. At the end, we got to play on a gigantic harness jungle gym. We started on our way to Pike's Peak an elivation of 14,115 feet. We stopped for lunch about 10 minutes away from Pike's Peak. There were tons of huge rock formations at our lunch site. Most of us went climbing. We took the Cog Railway up to Pike's Peak. Our conductor was full of corny jokes. We came down Pike's Peak and went back to camp.

It was the average day of Merit Badge classes except for at night when the Astronomy class went to out post until morning. We were supposed to be stargazing, but it rained and the clouds blocked every star.

July 7th

Today I woke up at outpost. JP and I packed up and I headed back to mile swim practice. I finally finished Shot Gun and finished most of medicine. At lunch we had pizza which was one of the best lunches. Unfortunately it rained again so I could not ride horses. The skits last night were great.
